Beekeeping is a complex activity involving a lot of sweat and a lot of worries. We want you to enjoy the experience of having a bee hive without the hassle.
What do we do during maintenance? We stop the bee flux in the hive , we transport it outside, open it, service it, close it and put it back inside.
Our philosophy is to interfere as little as possible with the bee’s biology and the ecosystem established in the hive. And the best way to do it is… not to treat the hive at all. This is very controversial and you will find a lot of different opinion about chemical or organic treatments of hives around. We believe the best way to help the bees get better and recover from the threat of disappearance they are facing right now is to LET THEM BEE! To let them select strong genes, let them find a way to fight the different pathogens that are trying to take over. Organic treatments have the advantage of not using chemicals that are harmful for the environment. However they are known for strongly disturbing the ecosystem in the hive and hampering the necessary communication between the bees, making them weaker on a long run. Not treating the hives involves the risk of loosing a colony, but we are convinced that this is what will help the bees select strong genes on a long run and make them able to resist the pathogens that keep developing better and better strategies to take advantage of any weak genes that treatments help preserve.
